Shri Tarun Vijay is a leading intellectual of the BJP & RSS, the ruling political party and its ideological mentor. He was the editor of the main RSS publication the Panchajanya for 20 years, the first editor of this was A.B. Vajpayee – the former Indian prime minister.
He has been a leading Parliamentarian (Rajya Sabha), celebrated author, famous journalist, political leader and social worker from India. He has been the member of the Indian Parliament’s external affairs committee. Author of twenty three books, two of which have been translated into several Indian and foreign languages. He directed India's first tele-documentary on river Indus. He was also a member of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Defence .
He has worked for years for the poor and less fortunate segments of the Indian society. He has been the recipient of many awards including being the first non-Tamil to receive the prestigious 'Aruntamizh Aarvalar Award' by the Kamban Academy. He has authored several books and is acknowledged as a leading intellectual of India.
